Liposuction

Including Ultrasound

What is Liposuction?

As we age, it certainly seems that fat accumulates in certain key areas that can be difficult to improve with exercise and dieting. In women, these areas include the hips, thighs, flanks, and even the abdomen. In men, it is primarily the abdomen and flanks.

These trouble areas can be addressed with liposuction, which attempts to improve contour by eliminating the deep fat. This is not a weight-loss procedure, and patients must have reasonable expectations about what it will and will not do.

Liposuction typically requires tiny incisions, placed in concealed areas to gain access to the fat deposits.

Traditional liposuction, like most things, has been improved since its inception by technology. By adding ultrasonic waves to the fat tissue, we can disrupt the fat cells, improve the efficiency of fat removal and improve the result and experience. Dr. Gordley will choose candidates for ultrasound-assisted liposuction on a case-by-case basis.

After liposuction, the best results are obtained by wearing a compressive garment for six weeks after surgery.

Recovery – If liposuction alone, then less than one week.
