What is a Breast Lift?

As a result of changes over time, accompanied with changes after breastfeeding and weight loss, the breasts begin to sag or droop. This gives them a more flattened, elongated shape. Essentially, there is not enough breast tissue to fill up the skin; or conversely, too much skin for the breast tissue.

In order to regain that perky appearance of a youthful breast, a breast lift (mastopexy) may be desired.

Is a breast lift right for you?

A breast lift procedure entails making incisions around the areola to lift it back up on the chest wall. Depending on the severity of the drooping breast, more incisions may be necessary down to and on the chest wall.

As a general rule, this will bring the breasts up to a more favorable position on the chest but may make the breast appear smaller in size. Dr. Gordley may choose to rearrange some of your own tissue to auto-augment your breast or may suggest placing an implant at the same time to maximize the appearance.

What his patients have to say …

“Being diagnosed with breast cancer was a scary and stressful time for me. Dr. Gordley took his time explaining my options and helped me through the whole process. He took away a lot of the anxiety I came in with and actually gave me things to look forward to. I thank him dearly for being a great and caring doctor with hands that do fabulous work.”
